The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) is about to commence its Global Health Conference and Exhibition this year on March 9th in Orlando, Florida. HIMSS20 is the leading health information and technology conference, bringing together nearly 45,000 professionals for the innovation and collaboration needed to drive the transformation in healthcare- this year the theme being, “Be the change.”

This year, Innovaccer, a leading healthcare technology company, will introduce “unified patient records,” as its proprietary model at their booth #2014. Its interface allows the collection of data from the full range of a patient’s healthcare experiences and provides a complete view of that patient for the healthcare team. The unified patient record serves as the backbone of Innovaccer’s Data Activation Platform which is powered by APIs and an analytical framework to manage complexity across every patient care settings.

Today, Innovaccer leverages artificial intelligence to automate workflows and create point-of-care alerts. The platform uses “value-engineering” to generate custom actionable intelligence to “activate” patient data. It also integrates applications on the platform using tools for collaboration, greater efficiency and the ability to address social determinants that factor into a patient’s health. So far, Innovaccer’s Data Activation Platform has unified over 3.8 million patient records, enabling more than 25,000 providers to transform care delivery and care as one.

HIMSS20, being a global venue to connect with renowned thought leaders and to share success stories, will also be focusing on interesting discussions centered around healthcare topics with education sessions featuring top thought leaders. Such sessions will help attendees obtain a broad picture of opportunities and successes in the healthcare community. One such session titled “State of the Industry Panel: Caring for Our Most Vulnerable” will be delivered by Emily Fletcher, Ambulatory Care Program Manager at Mercy One PHSO, along with Jacob Reider, MD, CEO at Alliance for Better Health and Jonah Comstock, Editor in Chief at MobiHealthNews, HIMSS Media. The session will detail the current state of Social Determinants of Health and discuss how organizations are engaging patients and providers to promote health and wellness for at-risk and vulnerable populations.

Another enlightening session titled, “Optimization of ED Utilization to Advance Value-Based Care,” will highlight how Physicians of Southwest Washington reduced their ED utilization while optimizing the quality and cost of care. This session will be delivered by Tamra Ruymann, Chief of Digital Health at Physicians of Southwest Washington and Cheryl Moses, RN, MSN, Chief Nursing Officer at Physicians of Southwest Washington.

Along with education sessions, Innovaccer will be hosting healthcare leaders such as David Nace, MD, Jesse C. James, Paul Grundy MD, Mike Sutten, David B. Nash, Adrienne White-Faines, Phil Fasano, Tamra Ruymann among others at its booth.
