The beginning of the age of Decision Support

The world is just being flooded with data, every day we are spending in this digitally connected world – the amount of data we produce is just multiplying. Intuitive decision making is now being supplemented by decision support mechanisms and hence data is now starting to be at the core of how we shape the next generation of businesses, technologies, and more importantly lives.

The kind of decision support mechanisms that we deal with today span all kind of decisions (personal and professional) – what are the greatest performing companies, who are my best customers, which movie do I watch today, what route do I take to home, and the list goes on.

At the heart of these decision support mechanisms lie some vast repository of clean, standardised, linked, and fast datasets, and to make the next generation super easy – machine assisted world, we need the best of the corporations, startups, researchers, and data scientists to create the base (the clean, linked, databases).

Some of the early indications can already be seen by a bunch of startups, researchers, and corporations making huge steps in the direction. In these very exciting times, I think we are at the brink of the machine intelligence revolution that will be driven by the current data standardisation revolution – hoping to be at the forefront of it.
