Your Role

We are looking for Director-Data Science to join the Customer Engineering team. The Director Data Science is responsible for developing the vision, and roadmap for data science at Innovaccer

A Day in the Life

  • The Director Data Science is responsible for developing the vision, and roadmap for data science at Innovaccer 
  • The Director Data Science will work with the customers/prospects to gather their requirements across advanced analytics and build it into the roadmap
  • He/She will play a strategic role in developing the next generation of data products in healthcare that include machine learning and artificial intelligence (member churn prediction, behavioral health analytics, risk predictions, disease onset and progressions etc)
  • The Director Data Science will work with platform teams to create the data science platform to enable teams to train, test, and deploy machine learning models across customers at scale. 
  • In collaboration with the marketing team, Director Data Science  will be responsible for launch of various data products in the market
  • The Director Data science is responsible for developing the team’s culture, hiring standards, and HR policies.
  • The Director Data Science oversees the data science department’s training and competency development, determining best practices and work standards. 
  • The Director Data Science will also play an analytical role where he will be responsible for the evaluation of analytics and machine learning technologies in use in the business., as well as identifying new data sources that need to be collected to enhance the models being built.  
  • The Director Data Science will also act as a mentor for young data scientists to help them overcome their day to day challenges. 
  • The Director Data Science will be responsible for pushing the boundaries of innovation to inspire teams to submit various patentable inventions.

What You Need

  • The Director Data Science has to have a master’s degree (PhD preferred) in Statistics, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or any other related quantitative field. An equivalent of the same in working experience is also acceptable for the position.
  • The candidate for this position will have had at least 10 years of working experience in a data science capacity, preferably working as a Head of Data Science. Experience in healthcare is a plus. 
  • He/She  will also have a 5+ years of  experience leading of leading data science teams
  • He/She should have experience of successfully delivering multiple data science and ML projects with values exceeding $7M
  • He/She should have a strong expertise in data science, data engineering, software engineering, cloud vendors, big data technologies, real time streaming applications, DevOps, and product delivery. 
  • The candidate will also have extensive experience solving analytical issues through quantitative approaches and machine learning methods as well as vast experience using advanced statistical methods, data mining techniques, and information retrieval. 
  • The candidate must also be expert in  modern machine learning techniques as well as knowledge of A/B testing, experimental design, and general statistical modeling.
  • A suitable candidate will show comfort analyzing and manipulating large, complex, high-dimensional data from numerous sources.
  • The candidate should have hands on experience with data modeling/development software (ie. R, Pandas, Jupyter Notebook, Spark MLlib, TensorFlow) as well as should have worked with various data science platforms such as Databricks, Sagemaker etc. The candidate will also have had experience working with distributed computing tools such as Hadoop, PySpark as well as experience working with big data technologies such as SQL.
