Your Role

We are looking for a Director, Compliance to join the Law and Compliance Team. You will work closely with the Legal Counsel team, and partner with other corporate functions, to drive Compliance operations for the company.

A Day in the Life

Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance program to address corporate compliance and ethics generally, as well as a programmatic approach to managing legal and regulatory risks of significance to the business
Manage day-to-day operations of the compliance program
Develop, maintain and revise policies and procedures in support of the compliance program and to mitigate designated risks (e.g., health care compliance, privacy (HIPAA, CMIA, CCPA and other state laws, GDPR), anti-corruption, trade sanctions)
Develop and continuously improve systems and processes to prevent, detect and correct non-compliance
Advise internal stakeholders on appropriate compliance risk mitigation strategies and work collaboratively with other functions within the company, such as HR, IT/Security, finance, sales and marketing, to introduce policies and procedures to improve business controls and to promote compliant and ethical behavior
Monitor and coordinate compliance activities of other departments and partner to deliver supplemental compliance training pertinent to specific functions
Periodically review and revise program components to respond to changes in applicable laws and regulations and company activities
Monitor compliance trends, measure the effectiveness of controls, promote best-practices, and manage compliance-related communications
Promote and manage the company’s compliance and ethics hotline
Respond to reports of non-compliance, including investigation and development of corrective action plans, as needed
Work with HR to develop and implement an effective compliance training program, incentives to promote compliance, and a framework for consistent and effective discipline, when necessary
Document and review potential conflicts of interest

What You Need

10+ years of experience in compliance functions for digital health, life sciences, or health care business
Bachelor of Science or Arts; JD preferred
Demonstrated leadership, including proven ability to establish a vision and drive structural change across the organization
Process-oriented with good project management and problem-solving skills
Ability to persuade and influence others using collaborative work style
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to translate regulatory and legal requirements into practical, actionable advice and programs
Experience with compliance monitoring, auditing (and external audit response) and investigations
Certification in relevant practice areas (e.g., health care compliance, privacy)
