About the Presenters

David Nash MD, MBA

Dr. David Nash is the Founding Dean Emeritus of the Jefferson College of Population Health and one of the most renowned healthcare thought leaders in the United States. He has been named on Modern Healthcare’s list of the Most Powerful Persons in Healthcare. He’s also the Dr. Raymond C. and Doris N. Grandon Professor of Health Policy at Thomas Jefferson University. He’s the editor in chief of four major national journals, and he has authored and edited numerous peer-reviewed articles and books. He is also on the founding editorial board of TeleHealth and Medicine Today. Dr. Nash received his BA in economics from Vassar College, his MD from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, and his MBA in Health Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Jesse C. James, MD, MBA
Jesse C. James, MD, MBA
Chief Medical Officer, CHESS Health Solutions

Dr. Jesse C. James majored in biology at Florida A&M and is a graduate of both the Yale School of Medicine and the Yale School of Management. He completed his medical residency in Internal and Preventative Medicine at the UNC School of Medicine in Chapel Hill. James has much experience with the Department of Health and Human Services Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC-HIT). There, he was deeply involved in the EHR Meaningful Use program, development of clinical quality measures, and served as clinical advisor on multiple federal committees. Other notable achievements include receiving the honorary award for excellence in Innovation at the ONC-HIT, and serving as a co-chair for the MACRA Technical Expert Panel for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services Quality Measure Development. Dr. James served as Associate Medical Director at Inovalon, and most recently as Chief Medical Information Officer at Evolent, where he worked as the clinical architect for enterprise information systems and data use, working collaboratively across the organization to enhance clinical goals in value-based development.

Dr. David Nace is a physician executive with over 20 years of senior management experience in large healthcare systems, payer health plans, leading healthcare providers, and health information technology organizations. With his strong collaborative and cross-functional leadership skills, he has demonstrated excellence in business development, client relationships, communication and presentation skills, executive presence, and an ability to mentor, lead, and educate. Dr. Nace’s areas of interest include clinical integration, accountable and value-based care, patient-centered medical home, population health, and the application of technology in healthcare innovation. He is passionate about new models of care delivery, collaboration across markets and industries, disruptive innovation, and patient centered care.
