Dr. Eric Weaver saw what he calls "the dark underbelly of fee-for-service medicine" and how it doesn't always work in the best interest of patient care. He left the FFS world, started an ACO, and never looked back. Now, as executive director of the Accountable Care Learning Collaborative (ACLC), he joins other national leaders driving the movement towards value-based care, and the digital transformation that enables it.
On today's show, Dr. Nace and Dr. Weaver discuss why the healthcare industry has been slow to embrace value and move to risk. They also discuss what the ACLC is doing to help organizations make the leap from "what to do" to "how to do it," and the care-delivery competencies that can help assure success in risk-bearing payment models.
Today's panelists are David Nace, MD, chief medical officer at Innovaccer; and Eric Weaver, DHA, MHA, executive director of the Accountable Care Learning Collaborative.
