SAN FRANCISCO & WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NAACOS Fall 2022 Conference booth Y—Today, Innovaccer Inc., the Health Cloud company, announced that MSSP ACOs on the Innovaccer® Health Cloud generated significantly higher shared savings growth, earnings, and quality scores compared to their peers, according to the 2021 Performance Year Financial and Quality Results data just released by the CMS.
For PY 2021, Innovaccer’s customers generated $242 million in MSSP shared savings across 23 ACOs serving 748,767 lives. Moreover, Innovaccer’s MSSP ACO customers generated 12.19% greater shared savings growth than non-Innovaccer customers, were awarded 8.97% more of generated shared savings, and scored 4% higher quality scores than MSSP ACOs who are not leveraging the population health management power of the Innovaccer Health Cloud.
Since Innovaccer entered the market in 2016, MSSP ACOs on the Innovaccer Health Cloud have generated more than $544 million in total savings. Adding savings generated by Innovaccer’s customers using other reimbursement models, including Next Generation ACOs, Global and Professional Direct Contracting (GPDC) ACOs, commercial ACOs, and pure Medicare contracts, Innovaccer has helped its customers across value-based and commercial lines of business generate more than $1 billion in cumulative cost savings.
“We congratulate our customers for their success in improving care quality and their outstanding, and ongoing impact on bending the U.S. healthcare cost curve,” says Kanav Hasija, cofounder and Chief Product Officer of Innovaccer. “The total healthcare cost savings produced by Innovaccer’s customers now exceeds $1 billion when you consider savings generated by all the health systems who have used our Health Cloud to optimize value-based and other programs over the last six years. Our hats are off to our customers who continue to lead the way in population health management.”
According to the CMS, the Medicare Shared Savings Program Accountable Care Organization (ACO) payment model served more than 11 million seniors in 2021, and collectively saved Medicare $1.66 billion overall after accounting for $1.96 billion in generated shared savings payments. PY 2021’s $1.66 billion in savings comes in second only to last year’s record $1.9 billion in savings and $2.3 billion in generated shared savings payments since the MSSP program started in 2012.
MSSP ACOs using the Innovaccer Health Cloud to manage their population health and value-based care strategies outperformed on quality, expenditure, benchmark, and shared savings/loss measures for the 2021 PY. Moreover, leading ACOs and other health systems becoming REACH ACOs are turning to Innovaccer’s new ACO REACH Solution Suite to jump-start their success with this innovative new model, which emphasizes advancing health equity as an integral part of population health management to improve care and financial outcomes.
“Accountable Care Organizations are the vanguard of value-based care,” says Abhinav Shashank, cofounder and CEO of Innovaccer. “We congratulate each and every one of our superhero customers who rely on our Health Cloud technology to contribute to the success of the CMS’s alternative payment models (APMs), including the exciting new ACO REACH program. We’ll continue to invest in our best-of-breed population health management technologies to help ensure our customers excel at these complex APMs, which represent the future of Medicare reimbursement.”
